The reincarnation trap.

You came back to Earth for a soul purpose and correction, with a predestined story. Your soul chooses your family, birthplace, and so on.

You failed. You die.

Your memory is wiped out, and then you come back to earth to fulfill a purpose and undergo a soul correction within a predestined story. If you fail - repeat the same cycle.
