Sitting in front of a laptop for 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week often leads to exhaustion.
How do we combat fatigue at work?
The simple answer is through exercise, sports, and movement – taking regular quick breaks.
Sounds counterintuitive?
Not really.
Here are some benefits of exercise and taking regular quick breaks that we take for granted.
• 🧠 Good for the mind. Exercise or practicing sports requires concentration; therefore, it becomes a default form of mindfulness and meditation – fewer thoughts, more clarity.
• 💊 Happy pill. We release endorphins when we exercise or practice sports.
• 🏃♀️ It pumps energy. It's hard to exercise when we’re tired but the truth is – it’s just the start that’s hard, wait for 10 minutes and you will feel the adrenaline kicking in.
• 🥗 Being physically active forces healthy eating habits. Observe what happens when you exercise or practice sports regularly. The body will naturally crave healthy food and automatically reject junk.
👉 When you start eating healthy, you have more energy and you’re less tired at the end of the day.
• 🍶 One last simple hack, drink a lot of water. The body and brain need oxygen to function properly. Water gives the brain, energy to function including thought and memory processes.
We get caught up in being busy trying to meet deadlines, attend calls, and fulfill our responsibilities at work and home.
However, exercising or practicing sports for 30 minutes or 1 hour at least 3 times a week can increase our satisfaction, happiness, productivity, creativity, and overall well-being.
