When you hate your job and stuck between finding a new job or starting your own business
Here are some simple questions to ask yourself and consider:
Would a new job be different? Would it give you satisfaction?
- You will still work 9-5 or more hours
- You will still have a boss
- You will still have a fixed salary
- You will still follow rules and policies
However,
- It’s a new working environment.
- New office
- New colleagues.
- (Probably) higher salary
The most important question : Would this new job give you what you’re actually seeking?
If the answer is NO, it’s time to stop, step back, and reflect.
If..................
- You’ve been longing to start your own business
- You want to have flexible hours.
- You want to pursue your passion, idea and creativity
- You want to have a new lifestyle
- You want to have freedom
- You want to have a change
What if, fast forward in your life ......
You will always have this regret of not going for what you truly want!
Remember Jeff Bezos' Regret Minimization Framework
The regret of quitting his job on Wall Street versus the forever regret of not pursuing his vision – Amazon.
We all know the end of the story.
We can apply the regret minimization framework in any aspect of our lives, be it professional or personal.
Minimizing the Regret of NOT Trying at all versus the regret of trying but failing,
If you feel that entrepreneurship is not for you, go ahead and send that CV.
But if you feel that you have a better calling, go ahead and draft that resignation letter. Send it when you’re ready to take action and change your life.
“What if” the choice is actually in your hands?
